Ah, What Beautiful Memories!

February 23, 2013

Good morning.  Well, I guess we're looking at more rain and snow for this whole weekend.  I turned on the Weather Channel to see what next weekend looks like and was sad to see it's not expected to be sunny and dry.  I'm just hoping that it does not interfere with the plane leaving for Florida.

Well, yesterday I finally bagged up all of Tootsie's toys and clothes.  Each little dress, sweater, jacket or other piece of clothing brought back so many memories.  This time, it put a smile on my face.  I only hope another little dog will make as many good memories when it wears these clothes.

Joe went with me to help drop everything off for Dee Dee to go through in case her little dog Sassy would like some of them.  Then Janet, my DIL, will take them to her brother who has recently adopted an adorable shelter dog.  After that, I will ask my friend, the groomer, who else could use them.  There's always a little dog somewhere looking for some new things.

Today I have some photos that I  took last Monday.  This is a little Junco who was busy scurrying around on the snow looking for food.   My favorite shot is the last one of him  trying to run in the snow.

I'm thinking that after I get back from vacation, I'm going to have to get serious about getting rid of a lot of things.  The clutter is finally getting to me, along with the realization that I don't even use a lot of this stuff anymore.  It's time for some serious bag and dump days.  This should keep me busy till it's time for next years vacation.  lol.

Now I think I'll make me another cup of coffee and see what sort of mischief Pogo and I can get into today.  Till tomorrow, Y'all have a wonderful day.

Hugs, Edna B.

It's hard to part with belongings of a beloved pet. I've kept some of the cat things but I can see where you'd prefer having different things for Pogo.
Oh oh! I see the decluttering bug has bitten you also. I think it's a natural spring instinct.

Tootsies clothes and toys will take her good vibs with them giving whatever little deserving furbaby a lift in life. You are a kind and generous person.

Love the Junco pictures ... they are the cutest little birds. We only have them in the winter ... when they leave, we know spring is here.

Oh yes, getting rid of junk ... I have that issue. In fact I have so mnay of those issues, I don't know where to begin. I usually begin with clothing because we have trucks that will come around and pick it up for charity ... my problem is I have collections, antiques mostly and they are too good to just give away. I need to find a home where I know they will be appreciated. That is not easy to do. Some things I want to sell or aution for the animal rescue place that I use out here. They are truly a wonderful organization. Very caring and very professional. I have no concerns about taking an injured bird or animal to them. That is a blessing.

I was just thinking ... it must be getting close to a year since Pogo came to live with you. Will you celebrate that date as his birthday? Just asking ... :)

Better go, Izzi has class this morning and I have a few things to do before I go. I love this class and the dogs and people in it. We have been together for four years. We do have fun and Izzi loves going to "schooly". Well, Edna, you have a wonderful weekend. Maybe the sun will peek through for a little while and lift everybody's spirits.

Must have been a strange feeling, getting through all Tootsie's belongings.
Of course your heart missed her, but it's good that you also could smile because it brought back so many lovely memories.
Great that you share her things with other doggies, who certainly be very happy with them.
Don;t talk about clutter!! LOL.
I should do that also again, but I think I will wait till the weather is much better, some placs in our house aren;t that warm!
We had a bit of snow this night or morning, but it's just a little bit, so it gives no problems on the roads.
I was happy yesterday, cause I could finish a new kit. Today I will make the preview and upload it and perhaps start already a new one. But also will have to spend a little bit in the kitchen preparing our dinner. We will have a chili con carne. Not that difficult but takes time cutting up all the things like onion, paprika, mushroom and such.
Have a lovely weekend!

such a large and challenging step... I am glad you have such a widening ripple of possibilities for carrying it forward. our animals' Life spans are far too short...

and I love this little bird. just wonderful!!

enJOY. it's nice here in Florida, again, after a bit of cold and unseasonably "cold" to boot last weekend.

BE well. travel safe.
