A Busy Day Ahead

February 26, 2013

Good morning on this fabulously warm and sunny morning.  Actually, it feels warm compared to last weeks temps, and it's a little after twelve noon.  I've been busy all morning, and still have a bit to do yet today.

SIL Eddie came over to shovel a path to the oil fill (on the side of the house) so that the fuel oil delivery man will be able to fill the oil tank.  We still have a lot of snow in our yard that hasn't melted.  Hopefully, when I get back from vacation, all the snow will be gone.

I have to go to the post office and the bank today, but first I have to wait for the oil man.  Gosh, there are so many things that need to be done before the end of the week.  But, I am not complaining.  Pogo and I are getting excited about going to Florida.

The mail lady brought me a new "Doctors Foster and Smith" catalogue today.  In it, I found the suet balls that I have been looking for.   Kyra had given me a pretty round bird feeder that holds these suet balls, so now I'll be able to fill it and hang it outside.  They have a lot of other nice things for birds in the catalogue that I will have to take a longer look at.  Hmmmm.

I'll have to cut the chatter short because the oil delivery man just showed up.  First I will post a couple of interesting phjotos from this past weekends' snowfall.  I used a flash on this first photo so that thr snow would show up better.

This next photo is what my beautiful tree looked like when I got home from work yesterday morning.  Isn't this pretty?

I know I  grumble a lot about the snow, but even I have to admit that there is so much beauty in it.  The fairy look that the snow gives to the trees doesn't last very long, but oh my, it truly does make your eyes smile.

Well, now I have to gather up Pogo and leave to do my errands.  Till tomorrow, Y'all have a fabulous day.

Hugs, Edna B.

Beautiful tree, I agree! So happy your warmer weather is sneaking in on you, but you will still enjoy the heat wave of Florida! Don't rush around too much so that you can enjoy yourself while there! I'm sure Pogo will enjoy the difference in temperatures! We had howling winds last evening that kept my "girls" pacing because of the racket! I was waiting to lose all my shingles, but none fell off that I can find! Lots of cat toys up in one corner of the yard and others trash, but no damage that I can find!LOL!
Have a great day tomorrow and will check in again then! Hugs, Mat

All your talk of sunshine and warm weather and we are getting pounded by a nasty, though beautiful, snow storm. This morning it was really windy and Izzi and I ended up playing a different version of Frisbee. I would throw it in the air, the wind would catch it and then Izzi would run like crazy to wherever the wind would blow it ...She would run one way and the wind would whip it another and then another. She was all over the yard and loving every minute of it. Then it started to snow so we went in until she rang her bell to go out ... what a rude shock we had. There was close to a foot of snow already and still snowing. Izzi went bananas ... she was leaping and running and throwing the snow while I struggled to keep up with her. I love the snow too, but I feel bad for my son who will have to come over and clear our walks and driveway ... He works hard all day then has to come over here to take care of the old poops ... I guess we are blessed that he is so willing.

So tomorrow I will run out to do errands. My daughter will have to wait until next week to see the dentist ... and she has had a toothache all weekend. I feel sad for her. And, I feel sad for the little birds who are struggling to find food and even to find a branch they can sit on. So, I love the snow, but I don't.

I asked before and I don't think you answered. I am assuming you are leaving on Monday for Florida. Then I will really be jealous of you basking in the sun while we plow through the snow .... hmmmm. I know you are going to have a great time and Pogo will not want to come back. I hope you are right that the snow will be gone when you return. How long will you be down there? Well, I sure hope you have a wonderful time ... you deserve it. You work hard and it's time for a break.

I am off to try to finish a Zentangle in time to post it before the deadline. I don't know why everyone else seem to be able to whip them out while I am still laboring over it. Anyway, I love doing them so I won't concern myself with what others do. You have a great evening, Edna ...

Funny that you have to search for those suet balls for the feeder. I can find them in several shops just aoround the corner.
Well in worst case you could melt some fat yourself in add peanuts and seeds to it, it's only a bit dirty work LOL!
Have to do errands too today. Should quickly post and then go for it.
