A Freebie For You

Good morning from my cold and snow covered part of New England.  It's currently 28 degrees F, and will be working it's way up to 36 degrees.  Of course Mother Nature will be tossing in a bit of rain sometime today.  Tomorrow is supposed to hit 56 degrees, then work it's way back down to cold again.

Pogo and I will have to get outdoors for a bit to enjoy this little heat wave.  After the snow melts of course.  Looking at my calendar is making me happy because every day now, we are closer and closer to Spring.

First on the agenda this morning is your freebie.  I have a Valentine QP for you.  I enjoy making these, so expect a few more over the next few weeks.   So here is the first one.  You'll note that I'm not using the usual color red.  Well, I like being just a little different.  I hope you can use it.

Today I  will have to spend a few hours working on sorting out my papers for taxes.  Ugh!  Ugh!  I almost think I'd rather do housework than work on the taxes.  Good Lord, did I really say that?  You know, many moons ago, I actually enjoyed cleaning my house and seeing my floors sparkle and shine.

I think I had just about entered my 50's when I struck up my long standing friendship with dust bunnies.  They make pretty decent neighbors.  They're not noisy, they mind their own business; and as long as I don't bother them, they don't bother me.  They don't even get upset when I eradicate a few of them every now and then.  (There's another big word!  Woo Hoo!  I'm on an educated roll!)

Many years ago, I was an executive secretary to the Vice President of Sales at Ocean State Cranberries.  My boss had a thing for using new and big words.  I swear his only friend during his growing up years was a huge dictionary.  Well anyway, it was then that I began to learn, and use, at least one new word every day.  Later, I found other fun things to do in my spare time.

Yesterday, Su posted her last two parts of the December kit.  If you haven't already picked them, stop by her blog.  While you're there, do take a moment to say thank you.  We really appreciate your comments.  Here's her preview.

Enough chatter for now.  I need to get busy sorting those papers.  I also have to call and make an appointment at the beauty salon for Pogo.  He's really getting shaggy.  lol.  Even with his shaggy hair, he is just beautiful.  So till tomorrow, Y'all have a fabulous day.

Hugs, Edna B.

I laughed when I read you comment today. I know you don't like the cold and the snow. I don't like to clean either.
Love your Valentine.
Good luck with those taxes. Glad my husband is an accountant. I would have no idea how to do them.

Oh my, I dread the thought of taxes, so much so that I allow my husband to do them all by himself :) Is that not nice of me? It is truly not wise because a day could come (hopefully not) that I would be responsible for them and that would be a disaster. I am terrible about keeping track of my spending and where the money goes. I am sure I would miss out on most of the deductions I deserve and I would be in a state of panic by April
15th when I would be desparately trying to pull something together. You are a brave lady indeed !

As for house work ... my dust bunnies have a particular character to them. They are woven of hair ... the hair of three cats and a dog. They are very beautiful, so I tell myself, and really shouldn't be disturbed. And I agree, they are easy to live with. So like you, cleaning is something I can rationalize away and not feel a bit of guilt. I have even taught my Hubby to appreciate them ... and that is doing something, Ha!

I spent most of my day in the waiting room at the Dental Clinic with my daughter. I was able to read my book and enjoyed every minute of it. I rarely get a chance to read except when I am in a doctors or dentist's waiting room, so it was something of a treat. Tomorrow I have another Raptor program to give. We will be teaching 4th Graders about Owls ... oh I love working with the kids. They are so wide eyed and bushy tailed and they ask the best questions. I am really looking forward to it.

I love the idea of learning a new word every day. My mother was big on vocabulary and proper English. I swear, I know so many words that I can't retrieve when I need them ... drives me nuts. They always come to mind in a short while, but they are rarely there when I am trying to express myself to someone. Writing something is no problem. I can just sit there and wait or what I usually do is leave a space and go back and fill it in when the word pops into my mind. But, talking ... I don't do much of it because I don't trust my retrieval ... I am a great listener though and that is a good thing ... Maybe even a better thing:)

Well, my friend, I am going to go put some dinner on the table ... yes, it is later than usual, but nobody has expressed an interest, so I just kept doing my thing. You have a relaxing night and I will talk to you tomorrow.

Oh boy, TAXES! Soon I must do the same. But I assembled by the way all necessary papers. Just have to receive one more thing and hopefully then I can send it away.
Yes, I will let the accountant take care of it, even if it costs a bit of money. It surely is worth it, avoiding a lot of stress and arguing LOL.
We are snowless now, how wonderful.
It makes walking a lot easier.
Have fun with your tax papers and dust bunnies ROFL>
