Waking Up To A Winter Wonderland

December 30. 2012

Good morning on this rather snowy morning.  Unless we have more snow coming our way, we did not do so badly.  The snow started coming down yesterday, and stopped sometime during the night.  We ended up with several inches, which Joe has been busy shoveling away.

Yesterday, I took pictures of Pogo's and my new toys so that I could make a little video to share with you here.  However, the first video was too difficult to upload so I erased it.  I'll just show you the adorable toys.  First is Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer.  This is Pogo's and it plays Jingle Bells.  Well, it will again when I replace the batteries.  (we played a bit with it already)

Next we have the Christmas Story Bear.  This one is mine, and recites "Twas The Night Before Christmas".  We played a lot with this one too and had to replace the batteries.

While the snow was falling yesteray, I took some photos to share, but when I looked at them, I decided they would make great textures.  So that's what I did with them.  I'll get them wrapped up and post them for you tomorrow and Tuesday.

I also want to show you the adorable framed photo that my friend Mary Ann made for me.   I love the doggy bone mat.   Note, the shadows across the picture did not come with it. Those are my fault.

My little tree is going to have to come down and be put away during this upcoming week.  I need the table to work on my taxes.  Janet will come by to help with them, and hopefully everything will be done before the end of January.   Well, actually it has to be because my appointment with the accountant is the first week in February.  I made an early appointment in order to get the taxes done and over with early.

My little mini vacation is all over today, and tonight it's back to work.  I did enjoy my days off though.  I'll have to do this every once in a while.  It helps to get me energized.  Not enough to be like the big pink bunny, but just enough to keep me perky. lol.  On that note, I'll leave you and make myself another cup of coffee.  Till tomorrow, Y'all have a wonderful day.

Hugs, Edna B.

Well, I guess the weatherman at our end exagerated what you were going to get ... that's a good thing. I had visions of you being snowed in for a week the way they were talking about your snow storm.

Love your toys and your Pogo picture. You have a lot of nice friends that truly appreciate you. It seems you had a really nice Christmas.

We had round two of our Christmas Friday night when my Granddaughter arrived. She came with a video of one of her competitions where she made a 9.5 (out of 10.0) on the beam ... very awesome. We are very proud of her. She has a great work ethic and it is all that hard work paying off for her now.

GD ran Izzi in a trial yesterday and she did really well with her. Since they don't work together very often it speaks to Izzi's understanding of the game and willingness to work as a team with her handler. I was proud of both of them.

My bird sitting is awesome. GD is loving having him in her room. He is a beutiful little boy. I will post some pictures sometime soon. Meanwhile his usual caretaker is attending a wedding in Seattle and hopefully having a well deserved wonderful time.

Taxes ... I am blessed with the fact that my Hubby is a perfectionist and therefore insists on doing the taxes. I think I have told you before that I don't do "perfect", so it is better for him to do them:) I doubt, however, if they will be done by February ... he is a run to the post office on April
15th person. No point in giving the government our money any sooner than we have to.

GD is sleeping in this morning. I don't know what the plans for today are, but I am thinking they won't have much to do with me. She will spend time with her Dad and then she may go see a friend that is home from college for the Christmas break. That is good because I am trying very hard to come down with a wicked cold and I could use a restful day or so to fend it off. Looking forward to your snowy textures. Have a good day before going back to work all energized.

Great toys!
Hmmm, you already have to think about the taxes? I still have a little bit of time, but it's coming, no question about that, it's always the worst thing of the year, I hate it.
But let us first have a nice last day of the year and a good start of the new.
Our Christmas decoration will be there still this week and then next Monday will be the great clearing day.
Have a wonderful day.

Great little toys, both yours and Pogo's! My "girls" are tired of playing with theirs already! Now, they are all asleep as it is raining and kind of dreary looking outside, but we so need the rain! Not too cold, about 40 degrees!
Here's wishing you a very happy, healthy, safe and successful 2013! We will be ringing in the new year with our traditional black eyed peas, cabbage, ham and cornbread! Quiet evening at home in front of the fireplace watching all the festivities on the TV! Hugs to both of you! Mat
