It Was A Long, But Wonderful Ride!

November 1, 2012

Is it really November already?  Where has the time gone?  Good morning from our sunny little part of the world.  It's cool (46F), but that's to be expected this time of year.  The weather man is making me nervous.  He's talking about another big "system" headed our way, this time from the Arctic region.  No sirree, that does not make me happy!

Pogo and I had a rather chilly ride last night.  The fun part was getting to see a lot of my old crone friends again.  The sad part was seeing all the devastation everywhere from Sandy.  I'm thinking that it will take years for everyone to fully recover.

There were a few other doggies along for the Halloween ride, and Pogo got to make a few new friends.  I must say that he behaved very well considering this was his first broom ride.  Kyra and Mat, we certainly did see you.  We were probably too high up though for you to see us waving.

I have a photo of another adorable little cutie who was all dressed up for Halloween.  This is Silly, a precious tiny white poodle.  Silly is 17 years young and still looks forward to dressing up for trick or treating.  Her mommy is a foster mom for resuce doggies.

Pogo, on the other hand, would have nothing to do with his penguin costume.  So instead, he wore his pumpkin sweater.   I have to say that he does look much better in the sweather.

And last of all, let me share with you a lovely photo of my daughter and son in law, Dee Dee and Eddie.  I think this photo was taken inside the "Haunted House".

My brother used to love working on the Haunted House project every year.  Now the big kids are doing it, and it looks like they are doing a great job!  I certainly would not want to bump into this lovely couple in the dark.

Now I must get moving here.  I have an appointment at the nail salon, and another box of new clothes to send off to daughter Laura.  Later, there is a bit of food shopping to be done, and then I can rest up for work tomorrow.  For everyone who is still being plagued by Sandy, I hope the rain has stopped and the sun is shining.   Stay well, and till tomorrow, Y'all have a wonderful day.

Hugs, Edna B.

I love his little sweater and I'm so glad you didn't force him to wear the costume. I'm never sure how happy some of the dogs really are doing that. It seems to vary from dog to dog...some don't mind and others look just mortified. Silly seems to be one that likes showing off.

So sorry I missed y'all guess the moonlight was way too bright! So Pogo will be happy to go with you again next year, huh? We are having our 3rd or 4th Indian summer I think, pretty warm today and supposed to be close to 90F tomorrow, but then a front comes through on Saturday late dropping us back into the low 70's. Been a crazy year for weather everywhere, but we escaped Sandy. Gonna be years for sure for lots of folks to clean up and rebuild. Y'all have a nice weekend ahead! Chat more next time. Hugs, Mat

I saw 169 trick or treaters last night, so if you flew by, I probably didn't see you! Halloween keeps getting busier and busier at our house and I love it!

There were a couple of dogs in costumes and I was thinking that I should have had some dog treats, everyone who comes to my door in a costume gets a treat; but the doggies stayed on the sidewalk with the parents while the kids came up.

I'll blog about last night fore tomorrow since I was taking today as a rest day after the big night.

Pogo was cute in his sweater!

Stay warm!

Glad you saw us waving LOL!
And I ahgree, the pumpkin sweater looks MUCH better on Pogo and he looks happier too!
DeeDee and Eddie look AWESOME!
Great you had some great meetings in the sky with old friends ROFL!
Now it's all over again, you can put your broomstick away for next year, first give it a good cleaning and oiling and it will fly like a superjet next year!
Have a wonderful weekend.
