Gearing Up For The Terrible Two's

August 10, 2012

Good afternoon.  Well, I finally got to sleep, and sleep and sleep.  I got up a couple of times to take Pogo out, and to give him breakfast, then back to sleep.  I must say that it felt good.  It's a great head start on my weekend with the "Terrible Two's".  In a while, Sassy will be dropped off here for the weekend.  Who knows?  Maybe by the end of the weekend these two kids will be best friends.  In any case, I have a stock of Sam Adams on hand for just in case.

The weatherman is calling for heavy rain for sometime today and tomorrow, actually the whole morning.  Gosh, I hope not.  We've been expecting rain for some time, but this is not the best weekend for it.  Deanne and Eddie and the kids are planning on a fun weekend away.  So if the  rain does come, I hope it just dumps and leaves.

It's Flower Art Friday at Photos By Leanne, and I have new piece of photo art.  This was one of my roses that I brought in and put into a bottle.  I used two of Kim Klassen's textures ("Oh My" and "Reverie") along with a few tweaks in Photoshop.  I forgot to write down all the steps, but I'm quite happy with the outcome.

I was so hoping to make a book with my nature photos, but now I'm thinking that maybe it would be fun to do the book on my photo art.  This might be more interesting.  Hmmmm, food for thought.

I don't have much news for today, so I'll be on my way.  I have a bit of blog reading to do.  Till tomorrow, Y'all have a wonderful day.

Hugs, Edna B.

I have made photo books and calendars as gifts, using a mix of my photos, my art made with my photos, and I think it's all kind of fun. And then again, it's a book, and oftentimes I love making slideshows instead that I can share with others.
Whatever you DO, have fun, and I think this photograph and your enhancements is spectacular!!

I love your rose; it looks like a painting! Fabulous photo art!

Have a wonderful weekend and if you drink too much of the Sam Adams, make sure you give Pogo the keys!!

Dog sitting, what fun. Sam Adams ... more fun. Rain :(
Hope your weekend turns out to be memorable ... I know you will be taking pictures, right?

I agree with Currie, you should combine your pictures with your art to at least show the original so the effectiveness of the artwork is illustrated. Sounds like fun no matter how you approach it. And definately use today's rose, it is spectacular! Have fun this weekend ... I will be thinking of you:)
