The First Snow Of The Year

January 6, 2012

Good morning.  My goodness, when I woke up this morning and looked out my window I got a big surprise.  Everything was coated with a thin layer of snow.   Coming to work, the roads were icy in spots, and a few places had a bit of sand on the road.

This morning, I'm typing this post on my new little laptop that Santa brought me.  It's such a cutie!  It has an 11 1/2 inch screen, and is much lighter for me to carry around.  Last night, Wayne installed my Photoshop and tonight we'll install Office.  The keyboard will take a bit of getting used to, but I can handle that.  I just have to figure out how to turn off the touch pad.  I prefer to use the mouse, and the touch pad gets in the way.

I have not had a chance to get any new photos, but I do have a close up of one of the Mrs' poinsettias.  I took this photo for a class in macro photography.

The little laptops don't have a disk drive, but I have an external  DVD drive so that's okay.  Now I just have to put in my Hoyle's games and my jigsaw puzzles and I'll be all set.  Thank goodness for thumb drives, because I carry all of my recent work and anything else that I might need on them.

Next, I just have to figure out how to get along with my smart phone.  After playing with it all day yesterday, and not being able to figure out how to make it work, Wayne showed me again last night.  I was able to send one text and play one game of Angry Bird.  I'll try again later today.  It's not fun having a phone that is so much smarter than it's owner.

Time for me to get busy here.  The Mrs will be waking soon and wanting some breakfast.  Till tomorrow, Y'all have a fantabulous day.

Hugs, Edna B.

Ooo! I didn't know you could put Photoshop on a mini laptop! That might be a good idea for me for traveling!

Too bad about the thin coat of snow and ice. I know we have it coming soon too, but today it's sunny and all is dry. Our neighbor is cutting his lawn, so it SOUNDS like spring. (But that lawn won't look so great in real spring without a rest!)

Keep warm, be safe!~

Hugs, Nani

I feel the same way about the smart phone, it makes me feel so stupid. They really should call them the smarter-than-you-are phones.
