Summer Is Slip, Slip, Slipping By

August 20, 2011

Don't look now, but there is less than two weeks left in this month of August.  This means that September and Autumn are right around the corner.  Ouch!  It's time to buckle down and start working on my 2012 calendar, and finish up my holiday shopping.  Don't laugh!  It doesn't take long for the holidays to get here once August is gone by.

It's also time to start thinking about which new Spring bulbs we want to plant this Fall.  I'm thinking maybe a lot of different colored tulips and some more daffodils would look nice in front of (and in between) the summer blooming plants.  I would also like more irises, and at least a couple of Rose of Sharon bushes.

There is a fellow who lives not too far from me who does a lot of yard woodwork.  He has some really beautiful benches and arch trellises on display in his side yard.  I think I would like to go have a closer look at these.

Today I have a couple of photos of our local gulls.  I have to admit that these are among my favorite subjects to photo.  They have so much expression on their little faces.  Plus, they are beautiful.

It's already afternoon, so I need to get busy here.  There's laundry to do, and I need to vacuum the carpet.  Sigh... so much to do, and none of it is the fun stuff!  Till tomorrow, Y'all have a wonderful day.

Hugs, Edna B.

It's hard to believe that summer is almost over, I feel like it just started. But, I do enjoy the cooler nights that have been coming out way.
