The Insect World Is Alive And Well!

August 13, 2011

Such a beautiful day to start off the weekend.  I'm a bit late posting this morning, but I took advantage of an opportunity to sleep late.  Tootsie and I got up earlier this morning so that Tootsie could have her morning meds, and then we crawled right back into our cozy little bed.

Since Tootsie's last check up, I was supposed to start cutting back on her prednisone again.  Up to now, I did not do it because she was not so steady on her feet.  Yesterday, we finally started the cut back.  So far, she's okay, but it's only been one day.  I will have to keep a close eye on her from here on in.

Yesterday at work there were lots of bugs, butterflies and dragonflies flying around in the backyard.  Lately there haven't been very many birds showing up there, I'm not sure why.  But the insect world is alive and thriving.

I have two photos of a yellow butterfly to show you.  The orange one didn't sit long enough for me to get a good photo.

My friend Mary Ann sent me a photo she took of a butterfly in her neighborhood.  Imagine!  Her butterfly could be related to mine.  They look almost identical!  She has a great new camera, and now I'm trying to figure out how to talk Santa into bringing me one too. (drool, drool)

I purposely stay away from camera shops because I want everything I see.  I know I don't need any new things, but it's like passing up that one last cookie.  You can't, you just have to have it.  At least I can dream!

Now it's time to start thinking about what's for lunch.  Then maybe Tootsie and I will go outside for a while.  Tonight I'm back to my weekend night shifts and some rain, I think.  That's it for today.  Till tomorrow, Y'all have a wonderful day.

Hugs, Edna B.

Croos fingers that the cutting back on the prednison will have no bad effect on Tootsie. It would be marvellous if she could take a bit less medication!
Your butterfly pics are lovely!
We'll see what the weather will bring here today. For the moment it's a bit sunny, but also lot of clouds. So we could have some more rain.
Jan was a tiny little bit better yesterday, he slept a lot, so hopefully today he will feel a bit better again.
Have some nice time outside with Tootsie today, before you'll have to work again!
Hugs
