Oh Goodie ! A Box Full Of Treats

May 5, 2011

At the moment, the sun is doing its best to pop in and out to give the illusion of a sunny morning.  But as long as the rain holds off today, we will be able to get a lot more done in the gardens.  We have lots more dirt to pick up and spread.  Then later, the last of the summer bulbs can be planted.

I did not do much in the way of designing yesterday, as we were pretty busy outdoors most of the day.  Dee Dee and I went to buy some dirt, and came back with a Japanese Flowering Cherry tree.  It was a circus to watch us trying to get six bags of dirt, 2 bags of mulch and one flowering cherry tree into my little car.  Thank  goodness a stock boy was walking by, because we enlisted his help in getting everything into the car without damaging the new tree or my car.  I will try to get photos of the new tree later today.

This morning I put together a few photos that I took in my yard.  I call it "The Colors Of Spring."  It shows the Japanese Red Maple adorned with new leaves, the Spring Green leaves on some of  the other trees, lilies, tulips, and of course Chippy.

I thought I would have a freebie for you this morning, but I do not have the link yet.  I promise to put one up tomorrow.  Last night, Tootsie and I went to bed early.  Somehow, I think tonight will be an early night too because tomorrow is a work day.

The postman brought me a box from Audrey yesterday.  Oh goodie, I love surprises.  Inside was another hummingbird feeder, hummingbird food and a treat holder and treats for our other birds.  Thank you, thank you.  There are two things that I really love to see in my yard - flowers and birds.  And of course, chipmunks.  Except for a few more summer bulbs and plants, I think we may be done with the bulk of the yard work for now.

Now I think I need to get dressed and start a load of laundry.  Eddie will be here soon, and Tootsie and I want to be able to go out and play in the yard.  So,  till tomorrow, Y'all have a splendid day.

Hugs, Edna B.

Everything looks so pretty. The weather here has gotten a little better, now we're looking at several rainy days in a row, but it's supposed to get warmer.
Maryanne is a follower of the blog, so I'm sure she's seen the round barn photos.
