Yikes!! The Vultures Are Looking For Us!!

March 4, 2011,

Good (late) afternoon. We had a busy day today shopping and looking around at a flea market. I just love those places!! Of course, Tootsie stole the show. Everyone had to stop to see the baby. What a surprise!! She looks just like a dog!!
*
On our way out this morning, down near the dumpsters, we saw some large birds not too far away sitting on a roof. There were also some large birds circling in the air way above. So out came the trusty camera, and I clicked away. Oh my, oh my. What grand photos I was able to get, considering that the birds that were flying would not help me out by sitting still for a moment. But here's what I was able to get. I believe they are turkey vultures, but I haven't looked them up yet.

Gosh almighty, I am so pleased with my photos today. Some days I just get lucky!! After we left the the flea market, we stopped by Walmart's to pick up a few things for meals and not to forget - more doggie food!! Of course, I also did a little side bit there taking photos of all the birds around the parking lot.
*
By now, I can hardly walk, so we headed for home. It was good to sit for a while and give the old legs a rest. And seeing as how it is supper time and most folks are hopefully at dinner, we thought we would take a chance on getting an internet hookup at the computer room. Yeah!! We were lucky, as you can see, but now it is time to give someone else a turn.
*
Kyra, we are doing our very best to huff and puff and blow these beautiful warm winds your way. Hope it works kiddo!! Till our next meeting, Y'all have a spectacular day.

Hugs, Edna B.

Yes, those are turkey vultures. Aren't they incredible? The park ranger told us they were a nuisance because they like to pull the rubber off of cars. Your photos of them on the fly are amazing - I'm still trying to learn to pan to get those shots. When we saw them on display at The Boyd Hill Park I noticed the one's name was R. Mortis - I thought that was very clever. Enjoy your visit!
