Happy St. Patrick's Day

March 17, 2011

Happy St. Patrick's Day everyone. It's a gorgeous warm and sunny day here in New England. Although I haven't been out yet, I plan to go out in a little while to do some errands. I have just spent the better part of the morning going through and paying the bills. After that ordeal, I need to be out in the sunshine for a while.

Two weeks ago, while I was at the airport in Boston (waiting to go to Florida) I noticed a life sized figurine of a Red Sox baseball player that was on display. Of course, I got out my camera and took some photos. I should have also got a photo of the back of the shirt so that I could see the number printed there. However, the bat is numbered 08, so I do believe that this is supposed to be Carl Yastrzemski.

What a great likeness! (If I'm wrong, don't be afraid to speak up and let me know.) Yesterday, I googled and found this print, done by Dave Olsen, that was a newspaper tribute to Carl Yastrzemski. His career went from 1961 to 1983. That's quite an accomplishment.
*

Now I think I'll go see if my laundry is done, and get ready to so out and get some of my errands done. Before I leave, Tootsie says thank you for her Birthday wishes. Till tomorrow, Y'all have a wonderful day.

Hugs, Edna B.

Happy St Paddy's Day. It's nice to hear from some one who understands the kind of life I had in the early days. It didn't seem difficult then (at 18) but I sure would miss my running water and flush toilets now.
