We're Having A Heat Wave!!!!!

February 6, 2011
*
I'm sitting here at work listening to all sorts of drip drip drips from the icicles hanging from the roof. It's 6 am, and I do believe that the rain has stopped. On my way to work last night, there were large puddles everywhere from the rain melting some of the snow that is piled up all over.
*
I just checked the outdoor thermometer and it reads 35 degrees F. So that accounts for the dripping noise. Wow! We're in the middle of a regular heat wave!! The weatherman says it will reach 39 today and 42 tomorrow. Will wonders ever cease? This should melt a little bit of the snow and ice.
************
I took a short break there folks. I needed to finish up a few things to get ready to go home. On my way home, I was checking to see how many fire hydrants had been shoveled out from the snow. Would you believe? Hardly any had been cleared out. I pray to God there are no fire emergencies before the snow is gone. It could be disastrous.

Tomorrow is our big day here. Su and I release the previews and the first parts to our new kit, "My Fair Lady." Our colors and theme are a bit different from your usual Valentine kit, but it should be perfect for all your sweetheart's pictures. It's a gorgeous kit you'll not want to miss.
*
Now, how about some more photos from the other day. It's not just the birds scurrying for food these cold and snowy days. The squirrels are hungry too, and out scratching for something to eat. This furry little kid was digging around in the snow on the patio for the seeds that had been buried. He's pesky, but still he's a cutie!
*

That's all for this morning. On my way home, I picked up a McDonald's breakfast platter that I will share with Tootsie. Yum, yum! Till tomorrow, Y'all stay warm and have a fantabulous day.

My driveway (depending on the location) still has anywhere from 2 to 8 inches of ice on it. Rain would be welcomed here.

Yesterday afternoon I used my snow blower as a zamboni and cleared off snow so my six year old could go ice skating in the back yard. When we lived in NH every winter I would see several portable ice rinks, but none made by mother nature like we have now!
