Giving Thanks

January 5, 2009

I did a little backtracking this afternoon, and came up with some disturbing numbers. Did you know that during the year 2008, I posted 26 kits and one project as freebies. I also posted 33 of my own QP's, and 43 QP's made with Snow Raven's kits. Many of these items were downloaded by hundreds of you, but only a very few of you stopped for a moment to say "thank you."

This can be very disenheartening. However, I think of the few of you who not only stop to say "thank you," but leave comments, and I find that enough to make me go on. So rather than dwell on the lot of you for running in and out without a tiny word of thanks, I wish to focus on the few of you that keep me smiling and creating. For you, I will keep on posting freebies. You make it all worthwhile. Thank you.

During the year of 2008, I made so many new and wonderful friends through scrapping and this blog, and I am thankful for all of you. During 2009, I don't ever want to lose sight of who I am and why I do what I do. My scrapping and my new friends keep my mind young and constantly thinking. For this I am also thankful.

Today, I am very pleased with myself. Last night I figured out how to get the internet on my laptop when I am away from home. Normally, I don't play around with unknown objects, buttons, clicks, etc. that are on my computer and laptop, because I'm always afraid I'll crash it and lose all my stuff. But this is a new year, and I've decided that I need to get a handle on things and try new stuff.

Boy, let me tell you when that internet popped up on my laptop last night, I had the biggest grin on my face, and no where to go. I had already answered my mails, posted my blog, posted to the forum, etc. So instead, I browsed Snow Raven's and Kyra's blogs just to make it all worth my time. Just think how smart I can be by the end of the year if I only try one new thing each week.
Wow!! It just goes to show, you're never to old to learn. Just ask me, and I'll tell you.

Now that I've done my whistling and tooting, I'll leave you, and go spend some time with Tootsie. I have a new QP for you today that I made with Snow Raven's new kit "Sweet Music." Enjoy,

Hugs, Edna B.

Thanks Edna for the great QP. Looking forward to the February DD at Magickals to see your and Kyra's work.
I'm a bit like you scared to click on too many buttons, but hubby keeps telling me it's the only way to learn, so I may have to be a little more adventurous. My one aim is to learn PSE5....I have had it for awhile now but never use it. It's most probably obsolete LOL.

Isn't this a lovely quickpage? Yes, it is!
And here's someone who also is a bit afraid to touch undiscovered buttons and grounds on the computer. Always afraid something will go wrong. But I will have to change that too. And about the few comments, ohhh I am used to that, but I don;t understand it. But, as you say, there are always a handful or sometimes a few more who leave a comment in the box or in shoutbox and that are the ones we really do it for, isn;t it? So congrats on the internet on the laptop, and up to new things to learn, whoopee!
Hugs,Kyra

I'm just sitting here smilin' from ear to ear. Congrats on finding the internet with your laptop! Doesn't that feel wonderful when you figure something like that out all by yourself? YAY for you!

I just purchased this kit and I'm looking forward to working with it. Thanks so much for the quick page. I'm a little concerned though because there's this girl that's got the exact same previews as SnowRaven does on her blog for "Her tubes" and I'm concerned that she's stealing from SnowRaven. I do hope that isn't the case.

Cute quick page, Edna!

When I download gifts, I generally leave my thanks in the blog comments. With 4-Shared requiring a log-in to comment now, I am likely to not leave comments there at all anymore. When I signed up I used my email address and that's what it leaves as my "user name" :(

Kudos to you for trying something new! I'm trying to take the positive attitude from your success to my new keyboard! We'll see how that works!

Keep up the great creative work and your informative discoveries! Happy New Year!!

Thank you Edna, and Dianna, for pointing this out. I have left 2 comments on this blog asking her to remove them, because they are indeed my tubes. She even had the nerve to show my own previews including background !!!
So we will see- if she does not remove them I will report her to Blogger as well, already posted at DigiShopTalk in the Designer Forum with link to the site. I wonder whose the other tubes are? Somehow I suspect they are not hers either.
